I believe many of us spent too much time in start-ups and really missed the opportunity to grow with kids. The funny thing is that I realized a cure is to get married and to have kids late. While most of our kids are in colleges, one of our friends has a 8-year old 1st boy and obviously he is having a much better time with the kid.
Those who having kids at old age will have a better time with kids? Why? Don't get it. Start-ups and running companies keep dads busy all the time from their young to old days.
Well, in my friend's case, he's well established and his wife quited the job as a full-time mom. And he chose to spent more time with the kid because he's the boss. But the most important thing is that it seems like when you get to certain age your maturity makes you to balance more about your life.

I wouldn't call my husband "nerd" if he made such a mistake, I just think how to relieve his stress from job, family...etc.
