紫花開滿樹 Redbud(Cercis)

紫花亮麗盛開.
Redbud splendidly in full bloom.
我到田地摘些嫩脆的生菜,
I picked some tender crispy greens, such as dandelions and arugulas, from the field,
加一手把紫花.
With a handful of redbud blossoms.
農夫看見晚餐桌上有紫花沙拉,
Nung-fu saw the redbud salad at dinner table,

Interesting that Redbud is in pea family;
all winter long the tree has long legume pods,
not very attractive;
but when the pink and purple flowers come out,
we know Spring is here, and Redbud is lovely to see.

Yes, it does look awfully bad with so many pods hanging on the tree.
While it blooms in spring, the flowers are really eye catching.
