鳳梨芭樂 Pineapple Guava(Feijoa)

多年前, 我寫鳳梨芭樂. 有人當它是鳳梨與芭樂, 兩樣不同的水果.
Years ago, I wrote about pineapple guava. Someone mistook it as two different fruits, pineapple and guava.


鳳梨芭樂外皮確有芭樂果香, 但不是芭樂. 芭樂果肉硬且脆. 就是成熟, 也不甚軟. 成熟的鳳梨芭樂果肉軟甜帶有濃郁鳳梨香, 風味十分特殊.
Indeed,  the peel of pineapple guava has guava flavor.  The inside of guava is hard and crispy. Even when it gets riped, it won't be very soft.  Fully riped pineapple guava is tender with a touch of fragrant sweet of pineapple aroma.


入秋之後, 樹上的鳳梨芭樂一一成熟. 我們不上樹採摘鳳梨芭樂果, 而是等它掉落地, 再從地上撿拾起來.
Pineapple guave riped in fall.   We picked up the fruits until they dropped on the ground, instead of climbing up the tree.


收集鳳梨芭樂堆成山, 挑選需要的品質, 就可以出貨. 送到城裡果菜市場販售.
We delivered those selected to the produce market in city.


不合格的留給自己和羊吃. 人一日至少食一籃, 羊則滿滿一桶.
The rejected are for ourselves and goats.  One basket for us and one bucket for goats a day.


人快吃膩啦!!!

農家食譜----鳳梨芭樂果醬  Farmer's simple food-----Pineapple guava preserves
材料--熟軟鳳梨芭樂數個, 糖, 清潔果醬瓶備用. Several riped pineapple guavas, sugar, clean jars.            
做法--鳳梨芭樂切丁.                              Put diced pineapple guavas in pot.
        置鍋內, 小火煮滾.                         Bring to the boil with low heat.
        加糖. 用湯匙攪動.                         Add sugar, slowly stir to boil again.
        再滾, 盛起裝瓶.                            Scoop preservs into jar while boiling.
        立刻蓋緊瓶蓋.                              Close the lid right away.
        儲藏陰涼處.                                 Keep jars in cool area.

請問那兩桶的芭樂 是一棵芭樂樹的產量嗎

又 沒想到您教做的果醬是這樣簡易的做法 更感謝您把果樹照出來 看到照片對果子的認識好像更深了一層

不是. 那是三到四棵果樹的日產量.

I have never seen this kind of fruit. Are they growing in NY too? Thanks.

Pineapple guava is a temperate fruit. There are many varieties of it. Most pineapple guavas are hardy to 15 degrees F. I don't see any chance that they'll survive well in NY.

節日收到禮物, 不會吃,
請問做果醬,切丁時要不要徐皮

除非果皮上有黑斑, 須去皮. 否則果皮纖維多, 有益身體, 可保留.
其實鳳梨芭樂生吃很好吃. 挑選軟一點的比較熟, 香甜美味.
還可用鳳梨芭樂煮雞湯, 又酸又甜, 別有風味.
